I haven't received it yet
I have been baking for many many years in an old drafty house and have truly struggled with proofing methods! I have tried just about everything I've come across without the best results. I came across this proofer by accident but am dang glad I did. Its compact but has one hell of a punch. The only thing that I wish was different is the size, it is big enough for standard 9X13 pans but not my beloved cast iron pans which I prefer to glass or metal. Still love the proofer, have only had it for about a month and have already used it more than I can count and would recommend it to anyone looking for an easier method of proofing..
If you get the Sahara Dehydrator I highly recommend getting the carrying case. It is so convenient to have everything nicely packed away in one place. The dehydrator and shelf case fit in perfectly and there is even a side pocket where you can store you quick start guide, manual and extra filter.
Very useful to have a predictable temperature environment for when I want to reactivate refrigerated sourdough starter and then during the proofing stages. Ca n you make bread without it; yeah but this takes one of the big unknowns out of the equation and allows me to focus on recipes.
Beautiful compact design, perfect instructions engraved onto the base and ease of use resulted in amazingly sharp knives in minutes!! I am so amazed how easy my knives slice through things now.
even in the dead of winter you can germinate your pepper and tomato seeds and anything else that needs warm soil to germinate.
I can get sprouted seeds in 3 days for tomatoes and in 7 for peppers like Hungarian Kalocsai (hot paprika) or Feher Ozon (sweet paprika)
peppers (chiles) are tough to germinate because they must have warm soil
I am just making the third batch of sourdough bread and am doing the bulk rise and the final proof in the Proofer. I get a consistently impressive bulk rise and am very pleased with my Folding Proofer.
I was surprised at how well this knife sharpener worked. I’ve tried many and they don’t work. I have an old knife that’s not been sharp for years. I got a sharp edge on it for the first time I b years. Since it’s new, I don’t know how well it’ll hold up but first impressions are very good.
Can not wait for consistent results this fall and winter with bulk fermentation. Used the proofer for overnight starter and next day bulk fermentation with consistent timing results. It will only make the process more enjoyable going forward.
I thought about getting this proofer for a few months, and I’m so pleased I finally got one. It takes guesswork out of bulk proofing, and makes great yogurt as a side benefit.
Proofer Accessory Shelf with Folding Legs
This dehydrator is really amazing - the engineering is remarkable, allowing it to quickly fold into an easy-to-store size and the dehydrator works really well, with easy-to-use controls. I had considered other brands of dehydrators until I found this one and I’m very happy with it. The Brod & Taylor website has lots of recipes - some are a bit vague on the amount of time/temp settings, but it is fairly easy to figure out how much time is needed for various things. I highly recommend this dehydrator!
These came with my Sahara dehydrator, and I like them. They are very flexible, very easy to clean and easy to store with the dehydrator. Just what is needed in a flexible mat.
It works great. I was not sure it would work on serrated knives. It works and is easy to use.
The Silicone Mats work great. They were used on the first use of the dehydrator; holding my rinsed/washed soaked chickpeas in place. The chickpeas would have fell through the chrome wire rack upon drying because the chickpeas/Garbanzo beans shrink upon drying. I am glad to have those Silicone Drying Mats can't wait to use them again in the coming days.
