Very useful

I live in a state where winters hit the negative degrees and summers are very hot and humid, this sourdough home is amazing!!! I love it and in the short days I’ve had it I have put it in good use, I only wish it was bigger so I can have more control over my big quantities of starter for my microbakery. But this is something everyone needs!!

Though I have worked as a private chef in over 56 countries, I was a bit loathe to begin this process because I wasn’t sure I could dedicate the time to both feeding and baking. (Many of my clients opt out of bread service so this ends up being bread baking for me). It has been a few months of trying to figure it all out. I have had small explosions from setting too high for long, extended periods and/or putting it in too small of a Weck jar with little room to rise. As a newbie, it’s a learning curve. I’m just getting into the swing of things and I am loving this little unit. I bought it for a few reasons: consistent storage to choose temps and feeding schedule, and maintain a great, active starter without refrigeration. I’m still learning and cracking the code to the joys of this machine as someone who is relatively new to bread making and certainly sourdough maintenance and baking, but after a few months of learning to work with my home, I have been overjoyed with the ease and very happy with the results. It’s changing the way I view sourdough making.

Beginner wish list

Just beginer and bought the sourdough Home because my home is in Texas so no consistency in weather.

My wish list is a window in the unit to see what is going on with my starter.

Right now I can only hope all is well when I open the door to feed it.
