Homemade Flavored Fresh Cultured Butter
Flavored butters are a quick and easy way to dress up any meal. Make them even more special with your own homemade cultured butter. Soften the cultured butter to room temperature and blend in ingredients. Spoon the soft flavored butter into a decorative container for a year round gift or just roll in wax or parchment paper to store for appetizers and meals. Cultured butter will keep for weeks in the refrigerator.
Tomato Oregano Butter
4 T / 57 g unsalted Fresh Cultured Butter; 3 slices / 7 g dried plum tomato; ½ tsp / 1 g fresh and finely chopped oregano.
Espresso Butter
4 T / 57 g unsalted Fresh Cultured Butter; 2 T / 12.5 g Turbine sugar, finely ground with mortar and pestle; 1 tsp / 1 g espresso powder.
Blackberry Butter
4 T / 57 g unsalted Fresh Cultured Butter; 2 tsp / 7 g honey; 1/8 C / 12 g fresh blackberries separated by hand or chopped.
Citrus Butter
4 T / 57 g unsalted Fresh Cultured Butter; zest of ½ / 1 g lemon; zest of ½ / 1 g lime.
Black Truffle Butter
4 T / 57 g unsalted Fresh Cultured Butter; ½ – 1 / 0.5 – 1 g black truffle finely chopped.
Rosemary Olive Butter
4 T /unsalted 57 g Fresh Cultured Butter; 1 T / 2 T rosemary, minced; 4-5 / 10-12 g olives, pitted and finely chopped.
Honey Nut Butter
4 T / 57 g unsalted Fresh Cultured Butter; 1 T / 125 g chopped nuts; 2 T/ 42 g honey.
Papaya Lime Butter
4 T / 57 g unsalted Fresh Cultured Butter; ½ / 2 g lime zest; ½ / 2.5 g spear dried papaya, finely chopped.
Spiced Butter
4 T / 57 g unsalted Fresh Cultured Butter; ½ tsp / 3 g coarse salt.
1/8 tsp / .5 g each: black pepper, coarsely ground; dried thyme; ground cumin; garlic powder; crushed red pepper; ground allspice; ground nutmeg; ground cloves.
