Brød & Taylor’s primary mission is to assist people in creating wholesome recipes in their own kitchens. We believe more and more that home bakers are looking for simple and reliable ways to pursue hand-made, from-scratch recipes and that they appreciate the tools with which to use pure or organic ingredients more efficiently and affordably.

The Folding Proofer is the first of Brød & Taylor’s products to reach the market. Introduced in 2008, the concept was first referred to as the EasyRise on the BerkshireBread.com website. The Folding Proofer represents the foundation of what hopes to be a continuing relationship leading to additional products that assist home bakers, ingredient aficionados, foodies and kitchen-crafters like ourselves.

Michael Taylor is an inventor, engineer and lifelong bread maker. In kitchens from Northern California to New England, he spent years searching for a convenient, reproducible method of fermenting and rising his own yeast doughs. Gifting a prototype to his Norwegian mother-in-law (who had the same challenges in her small South Dakota kitchen) solidified his path towards the successful and final design of the Folding Proofer.
